Placer County BHSA Services
Since the passage of the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) in 2004, Placer County Systems of Care has worked to advance a community-driven behavioral health system grounded in the principles of wellness, recovery, resilience, and meaningful stakeholder engagement. With the implementation of the Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA) on July 1, 2026, Placer County continues to build upon this foundation by expanding the focus to include substance use disorder services, housing interventions, and integrated behavioral health care. The BHSA strengthens community partnerships, improves access to equitable and culturally responsive services, and supports continued collaboration to better meet the behavioral health needs of Placer County residents.

211 Placer provides a 24/7, one-stop shop for referrals to community and health services including food, transportation, senior care, employment services, housing assistance, mental health supports and much more. People in Placer County can access 211 in multiple ways:
• PHONE: Dial 2-1-1 (or 1-833-DIAL211; for TTY: 1-844-521-6697) to speak with a call specialist. Language interpretation is available.
• TEXT: Text your zip code to 898211. Your text plan’s rates will apply.

Take Action For Mental Health
Take Action for Mental Health is California's statewide mental health campaign, building on the foundation established by the Each Mind Matters movement. The campaign encourages Californians to take meaningful action to support their own mental health and the well-being of those around them by checking in, learning more, seeking support, and fostering conversations that reduce stigma.
Know The Signs
Know the Signs is a statewide suicide prevention social marketing campaign built on three key messages: Know the signs. Find the words. Reach out. This campaign is intended to educate Californians how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, how to find the words to have a direct conversation with someone in crisis and where to find professional help and resources. Know the Signs is part of Each Mind Matters: California’s Mental Health Movement.
