
Aware Meditation
Aware Meditation offers a simple meditation technique that is ideal for busy people with even busier minds. This secular practice is comprised of information from the Vedas—ancient wisdom texts from India—and is known to effectively reduce stress and increase creativity and productivity. The course is designed to provide participants with a self-sufficient meditation practice of 20-minutes twice a day . The instruction includes managing thoughts and distractions and offers support beyond the training sessions. The technique is taught in person by a trained teacher during two-hour sessions over four consecutive days. Awaken to possibility with this effective and practical technique to reduce stress, improve cognition, and mitigate the fight or flight response. Results are cumulative and may vary based on the practitioner’s level of commitment to the practice. Anyone can learn to meditate, and everyone can benefit from the practice. This training is intended for Placer County employees, Placer’s Community Partners, and the general public who interested in learning to meditate and are willing to commit to the complete training.
This training is FREE and open to the public. BBS CEUs are available.
